Happy Hanukkah from Contiki!

lightsThis year, the first day of Hanukkah began on Thanksgiving, November 28 (talk about a double celebration!) and this evening marks the final day of this wondrous 8-day celebration.

Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights or the Feast of Dedication, is a reminder of the great dedication and wonder that took place when a small band of Jews defeated the mighty Greek armies. Even more miraculous than defeating the Greek armies, was the miracle of the oil used to light the menorah. The Greeks had made all the oil in the Holy Temple impure. However, the Maccabees found one jar that had been overlooked but contained only enough oil for one day. Miraculously the oil burned for eight days and thus we have the eight days of Hanukkah.

Contiki wants to wish our fans and their families a Happy Hanukkah and wonderful holiday season as we move into an exciting New Year.

2014 is bound to be amazing and we are truly honored to have the gift of so many amazing fans in our community.

Have a very Happy Hanukkah!
